Despite the Promises...
Something when I read Genesis 7:1 made me think of Matthew 25:21.
- Genesis 7:1 - Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
- Matthew 25:21 - His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
The verse in Matthew is a type of entering into the Kingdom of God. When Noah entered the ark, he also was entering a different realm where he would have protection and safety. This had been promised many years prior to this verse in chapter seven.
Think about all that Noah endured and all the trials he faced in the time between, despite the promise of deliverance in the ark. We also, despite the promise of the deliverance of the Kingdom, should expect to face many trials and hardships.
